G-Shock Men's Watch G-Shock Mudman G-9010-1DR - WW Review

First of all, let me tell you I am not a big digital watch fan. This is my first ever G-Shock and so far no regrets.
About this model:
The model number is G-9010-1. Its good to know it is not GW-9010-1. The difference of letter 'W' means this is not atomic. But it is solar powered.
In fact I didnt know this fact till the watch arrived (you can realize how G-Shock naive I am!). I was sort of disappointed initially but I liked the watch so much that decided to keep it. It has 48 cities and 29 world time zones and accuracy of +/- 15 seconds a month which is good enough for me (I dont see a reason to have atomic accuracy unless you are planning to launch a space mission or just a nerd).

If you want manual of the atomic version of the watch (GW-9010-1), its 3150. There is a youtube video review available for the atomic version. Other than the atomic sync, rest of the features are the same.

Pros:
-Good looking watch among other G-Shocks (though its just a personal opinion), very symmetrical.
-One of the few solar powered G-Shocks which displays time, day and month/date; no need to press any button to see all three. Good for me because at work I have to write all these three facts very often
-Solar-powered
-Light weight. Its not very big either
-Apparently very tough- haven't tested it yet

Cons:
None yet

Features I am not a big fan of:
-Buttons can be hard to press. This can be annoying if you will use the rally function (which I still need to figure out). Personally I dont see this a big disadvantage
-Auto light function sounds cool but didnt find very useful. So the display illuminates if you tilt the watch about 15degrees from horizontal. Its easy to do when the watch is not on your wrist. But when you are wearing it and standing, it can be pretty difficult to twist your wrist at desired angle to illuminate the display. Off course there are various options, you can switch it off. In dark u press a button and it lights up, you can set up how long u want it to illuminate etc.About buying experience:
Bought from the seller Watch Colony. It was about 90 bucks, new. Ordered on Saturday with free shipping option, arrived from Texas on Thursday. So very happy. The watch was not in a metallic box (like showed in above youtube video), that was a disappointment. But still five stars to the seller for fast delivery and excellent condition.

Casio G-Shock Multiband Atomic Watch GW810BXD-1 Review

I bought this watch because I like the idea of having it always accurate.
The only trouble is that it does not get the signal in the area where I reside, Vancouver, BC. I had another Casio that used to work fine and get a good signal in Vancouver, BC, but for some reason it totally stopped working. So I bought this one and immediately adjusted the belt to fit my wrist. Unfortunately, I need to return it but they would not take it back since the watch was resized and used. The Online store suggested me to contact Casio, which in turn suggested me to contact the store where I purchased the watch. I am still trying to find a solution.

Casio Men's Wave Ceptor watch #WVQ600SGA-1AV Review

The watch is elegant and gorgeous.Although I'd consider it to be a bit heavy, it isn't out of line for a Stainless Steel watch.Too bad Casio doesn't do them in Titanium.The gold tone leans more towards a "orange" gold than a "yellow" gold.Still very pretty, though.The watch arrived well protected from scratches and abrasions.

The instructions for setting the watch are spot on -- once you know how to set it!It took me 2 days of trial and error to get it right!Some of the behaviors of the watch aren't clearly spelled out in the manual.It was also helpful to dl the set up instructions in PDF from Casio as it then is on 4 normal size pages.That makes it easier to read while pressing all the buttons.So be patient on set up.

I have other Casio solar atomic watches and found that the atomic adjustment can be finicky.It works for me 95% of the time, though.I get a kick out of the watches "going to sleep" at night!

This is a watch with an "expensive" look to it!

CASIO WAVECEPTOR CHRONOGRAPH CHRONO ATOMIC WATCH WVQ550A-1A1V Review

Its a great watch.It's got some heft.At first, I thought it was hard to read because this LCD is the reverse of normal LCDs.The entire screen is black, with the information appearing in gray.I can read it fine, though.In dim light or nighttime, the light function works great and the button is easy to find without needing to see.The best part about the watch is that it looks incredible.In my opinion, it's the best looking casio atomic solar watch hands down.

The band is black metal, and it doesnt scratch off.When removing links, I wasnt delicate with the thumb tack.I scratched at the metal many times, and it never scratched at all or lost any of the black.I was expecting the black to flake off, but it hasnt.If I had to guess, I would say the metal itself is black.

Casio Men's MTG900DA-9V G-shock MT-G Atomic Solar Watch Review

There are no instructions on how to adjust the metal band. The band is ridiculuously large.
I don't know whose wrist it is suppose to fit. Unlike other manufacturers like seiko where
you can adjust the band by moving a spring loaded rod along a metal clasp which has lots of holes in it and covers a distance
of an inch and a half or more.This watch has metal clasp with only 3 holes over a distance of less than a quarter inch. The only way to adjust this band is to take it to a watch repair place and have the links removed.
Note that Amazon includes a "watch care & returns" brochure which states that "watches that have been resized or otherwised altered will not be accepted for return". Ain't that a catch 22?

I've only had this watch for a few days, but I have to say that I love it so far.I'm a watch guy, and I've never really bought a watch of this type before.I've always bought more dressy or sport watches.Most of the reviews on here are right on the money.The watch is light on the wrist, and comfortable.The buttons are a tiny bit tough to push, but nothing of any concern whatsoever in my opinion.The atomic sync is awesome... totally awesome.Mine syncs up on the nightstand (every day at midnight) & no where near a window. I find this model to be very attractive looking for what it is, yet still tough/rugged.I don't think I'll be the guy who's overly rough with it, but I did buy it for every day wear and tear around the house, at the gym, and outdoor activities... It seems to be the perfect fit.It's not over-sized at all in my opinion.Highly recommended so far.I'll make an attempt to report back in after a couple of months.

CASIO G-Shock Mens Rose Gold Collection GIEZ Black Analog Watch. Model: GS1100BR-1A Review

I have long been a lover of watches, particularly the G-shock line. Extremely durable, functional and relatively inexpensive, I have had a G-shock since the early 1990s and have never looked back. Recently, Casio has elevated the watch to what I think may be among the "coolest tools" ever.My most recent G-Shock was the GW1200A, as rugged as always, but now with solar power and the "Wave Ceptor" atomic clock synchronization, this dual display analog/digital watch represented the culmination of many years of striving for perfection.

I really liked the elegant metal band and the very sweet analog+digital display.But several of the pins had broken over the past few years and I began to crave something newer and more elegant still...

Enter the GS1100BR-1A.This is a magnificent watch in every regard.

Differences from the old GW1200A:

The Good:
-Even more elegant-looking pure analog display
-Very fancy mechanics given all things are done with the analog display
-Thinner and lighter than the GW1200A
-Still has almost all the features: Wave Ceptor, Solar Power, World Clock, Stopwatch.
-Super handsome rose-gold highlights

The Bad:
-Back to a plastic band...
-Some shenanigans when switching modes due to the fancy pure analog display (you have to wait for awhile while it adjusts to the next time zone or alarm setting and you can't do anything while this happens)
-No countdown timer function
-Stopwatch is a little tough to read given the minutes are on one of the tiny hands
-No backlight (!)

Summary: A more elegant watch that aims to be something closer to a dress watch than the GW1200A, the few compromises are welcome for an overall spectacular product that I highly recommend.

Casio Men's GW2500-1A G-Shock G-Aviator Chronograph Sport Watch Review

The 3 Issues:
1. No second hand. You need to rely solely on the small but daylight-readable digital display. This omission may have been to save energy, given its solar power.
2. Non uniform illumination. The mechanical hands & dials are well lit, the "6" at bottom is overly bright, but the digital displays are barely readable. I solved this problem for the lower display by sticking, using thin transparent weather stripping tape, a small aluminum foil reflector over the "6". It is shaped like a circular segment (also circle segment-see wikipedia), with the flat edge lined up with the bottom of the lower digital readout and the curved edge allowing you to just see the tip of the minute hand. It may take a few trials to get it right, but it greatly improvesillumination of the more-important lower display, including seconds, and blocks the glaring "6".
3. The alarm is not very loud and directional (loudest facing the front), I can't imagine hearing it in a noisy cockpit and it definitely won't wake me from a sound sleep. But my wife says it's loud, so it may just be that my age 66 hearing notch happens to match it's frequency.

Everything else is very positive. It came on the day before we switched back to EST and automatically adjusted well before the other two atomic clocks in the house. I have the "SIG" enabled to double beep every hour and it aligns EXACTLY with this Mac laptop's hourly time announcement. The mode dial is well thought out and tells you at a glance what is going on. After less than an hour in sunlight, the charge level has remained at "H" with just normal exposure inside. All of the functions are well designed and intuitive, so you don't need to carry the book after a day or two. It's big, but feather weight compared to the similarly-sized Timex IronMan it has replaced, which also wasn't very loud.

Recieved my watch from Japan with the big drawback all instructions in japanese. The watch is a beautiful watch to look at but the complexity of operation is a little much. Not quite sure why you need all the time zones. The face of the watch is a little busy I'm fairly simplistic and like a watch to just tell me the time. This is the 4th G Shock I own and they do make a rugged watch. I do reccomend the watch I do love it. Make sure to get instructions in English the downloaded version for the 5121 was OK but not great.

1. Setup is a nightmare - The instruction manual and pictures do not tie exacly to what the actual watch is doing.

2. Composite watch band will require the factory or a watchmaker to replace.My other Casios will allow an easy replacement

Casio Men's GW810D-1A G-Shock Multi-Band Solar Atomic Watch Review

This watch is the same as the Mudman GW9000A-1 except for a metal case and band/plastic plated to look like metal instead of the GW9000's heavy black resin bezel and band.
This makes for a very versatile, tough, and fully featured watch that looks more dressy than the Mudman. I've read that the plating (or is it painted) on some of the plastic can wear down to show the plastic underneath, but I've seen no evidence of that at all. On the contrary, my watch has seen the some of the same abuse that killed my non-Gshock watches and has come through w/out a scratch.
It has a great feature set. If you've ever had a Casio, you know how easy they are to learn to use. A feature I didn't think I needed, but have come to love is the auto el feature. It automatically flashes the light on for just over a second if you look at the watch in the dark.
This watch is also cool because you can see the time of day when in in countdown timer mode.

This is a great watch if you want: solar charging, atomic time setting, world time, stopwatch, and countdown timer with a light. You can't go wrong with this watch. Looking for something more blue collar? Try the GW9000A.

Casio Men's MTG1000-1 G-Shock MT-G Multi-Band Solar Atomic Chronograph Watch Review

It's a quality good looking watch and you'll be happy with it.
I have some advice for the very start.
1. Before setting anything, charge the battery as some functionality may be disabled.
2. Follow the quick start instructions to set the city time.
3. If the time is wrong you can try the manual setup using the radio signal from the atomic clock. If this doesn't work leave it alone and by next morning it will be OK.
4. Be very patient as it goes on its own pace "slowly". If you try faster it will go crazy. Fortunately it will return to normality after a few minutes of rest.
5. Print the manual from the Casio website or by a microscope to read the booklet and follow the instructions. No one does that.
6. Remember once you leave it alone it will work flawlessly.
I had a hard time when I started playing as soon as it arrived.
I haven't hammered it so the G part we'll see.

Casio Men's PAG110C-3 Pathfinder Solar Eco-Green Digital Watch Review

I have been using my new watch for about 3 weeks now and the amount of features is awesome! The only downside to buying online is that you don't really get an idea of the dimensions of the product. In my case, this green monster was not as bulky as my previous Pathfinder (which I hoped it would be), but apart from that, awesome watch with an amazing amount of features in such a compact design. Casio Men's GW330A-9V G-Shock Atomic Tough Solar Watch Review

Here's a G-shock about as close to perfect as a digital watch gets, always accurate to the second and no battery to replace ever.

I've been an enthusiastic collector of Casio G-shocks since about 1987 when I got an original DW-5600. This tough-looking black monster is still going strong after about 17 years.

We G-shock fans have watched them evolve over time in size, shape, color, and function. Now comes the atomic solar model that links up by satelite to the NIST atomic clock and resets to the second every night automatically. No-set accuracy together with no-battery-hassle solar power make this come as close to being the best digital watch I've ever worn.

It's got all the classic funtions you've come to expect in every G-shock: pinpoint timekeeping, multiple alarms and top-of the-hour beep, stopwatch, countdown timer, and illuminator. In addition to these, I've really grooved on the world time function on a couple of trips overseas. About 34 world cities and times zones mean that there's nowhere you can go that this watch wouldn't keep you on track without any cumbersome resetting as you cross the zones. And tough? I don't think you would be able to destroy it.

And it does all this while looking cool! A bit more sleek in form, this watch isn't quite as bulky as some G-shocks but still has the chunky ruggedness that will give you just the right trendy "look".For a year of so now, I've been enjoying two earlier version, one with a black case with red accents and another great looking navy blue with steel accents.So when I noticed this new dramatic looking black and gold g-shock, I couldn't wait to get it too.
