Casio Men's WV430DJ-1 Waveceptor Solar Atomic Ana-Digi Sport Watch Review

Casio Men's WV430DJ-1 Waveceptor Solar Atomic Ana-Digi Sport WatchIf you want a watch that's good looking and always dead-accurate to the split second without any adjustments, you won't go wrong with this one.
Here are a few observations:
It's lightweight. It weighs about half as much as the other watches I own with stainless steel wristbands, making it very comfortable to wear. The face is large with a simple clean design, making it easy to read. I do need my reading glasses for the digital display.
It's nice looking and goes with just about any kind of outfit from casual to dressy. I wouldn't wear it to the beach or with a tuxedo, but it looks pretty good with just about anything between those extremes. In the display photo, it appears to have a blue-gray face, mine is gray with a faint hint of violet rather than blue. When you look at it you basically see a gray face, but it's a warmer gray than it appears on the web. I think the real thing looks better than the picture.
It's pretty easy to set up. If you've ever set a digital watch, this isn't much different. The main difference is that you have to set the time zone you're in for the correct hour to be displayed. Once that's done, you don't have to worry about it again unless you are traveling and want to change it to different time zones. It's not a difficult procedure. One thing I really like a lot is the watch automatically resetting itself for daylight savings time! Twice a year I have to go through the tedious ritual of changing all of the clocks and watches around the house. It's nice having one wristwatch I don't have to touch. The radio controlled timekeeping works like a charm. The only potential drawback would be traveling outside the range limit of the atomic radio signal. If you are a U.S. customer, the signal range is nearly all of North America. Even if you are out of range, the watch should still keep pretty accurate time and you can always adjust it manually if you need to.
I like the idea of the battery being recharged by solar power. It doesn't require a whole lot of light to do the trick. The specifics are in the instructions. One example is five minutes of direct sunlight equals one full day of power consumption. I got this a couple of months ago during the dead of winter and I live in Minnesota, so it's dark most of the time and the watch is always covered by long sleeves when I'm wearing it. To keep the battery fully charged, I set it near a window instead of putting it in a drawer when I'm not wearing it. In the summer, normal exposure to sunlight with short sleeves when I'm out and about during the day should be more than enough light for a full charge. I should also mention that it will run for months on a full charge without additional light exposure. I'd like to say never having to replace the battery is a great feature, but to my knowledge there's no such thing as a battery with an infinite number of charge/discharge cycles. Assuming I keep and use this watch for many years to come, the battery will eventually wear out, lose it's ability to hold a charge and will have to be replaced. I'm hoping that will be a very, very long time from now.
To sum it up; the watch is no fuss, totally accurate, good looking and comfortable to wear. I can't say enough good things about it!

Casio Women's LQ139B-1B Classic Round Analog Watch Review

Casio Women's LQ139B-1B Classic Round Analog WatchI purchased this casio watch because my other watch had died and I needed a simple watch and I didn't want to spend much money. It was very inexpensive and that's what I was looking for.

It does what it's supposed to, which is to keep basic time. I wish I had gotten a watch with the calendar function because I never realized how frequently I looked to my old watch for the date. I felt I wouldn't need it, but a lifetime of looking for the date on one's wrist is hard to break.

My biggest complaint with the watch is the texture of the wristband. It's some sort of rubbery plastic material. I hate how it feels on my skin and it's a little too short for my wrist. I've actually purchased a replacement watch band for it and that helps a lot.

If you want a basic cheap watch that holds time and is easily readable, this watch would be fine. And if you lose it, no big deal because it only cost $11 or $12 dollars.

Casio Men's AQ164WD-1AV Ana-Digi Sport Watch Review

Casio Men's AQ164WD-1AV Ana-Digi Sport WatchI have had the watch about a month now and like it very much. Have had a few comments on how nice it looks. The "digital sweep seconds" feature is very cool. I love the brushed look of the metal. the crystal has stayed scratch free so far. The digital display could be a little larger but that is a function of 51 year old eyes needing reading glasses. Overall I am very happy with my new watch and feel it is a great value.

Casio Men's G304RL-1A1V G-Shock Ana-Digi Shock Resistant Street Rider Sports Watch Review

Casio Men's G304RL-1A1V G-Shock Ana-Digi Shock Resistant Street Rider Sports WatchGenerally a nice watch with useful features, especially the analog hands that complement all of the normal digital features like stopwatch, alarms, and world times. Having the owner's manual handy is an absolute must, however, as changing and activating settings is not intuitive and the tiny print on the dial is hard to read. All of that said, I would recommend this watch.

Casio Men's Ana-Digi Chronograph Dive Watch AMW320RD-1A9V Review

Casio Men's Ana-Digi Chronograph Dive Watch AMW320RD-1A9VBought this watch in July of 2008.Very macho looking!A real eye catcher!I liked it's dual analog/digital functionality for jogging, hiking, and limited water resistence for the pool. The crown is not a screw down type (more later on that) so I won't recommend it for scuba diving. The band is very comfortable and the analog dial is easy to read in low lighting. It kept good time.About(+/-) 5 seconds per month. Now the bad.About 3 months after purchasing it I noticed that the analog time was way off but the digital time was correct. At first I thought maybe the battery was running low but when I happened to push in the crown after resetting the time the second hand stopped moving.I pressed on the crown again and it stopped again.I pressed a bit harder and the second hand completely stopped. Also the bidirectional rotating bezel was too loose for my liking and would move out position too easily. This appears to be due to poor machining (ie; "Made In China").It is not the clicking type of bezel on many diving watches.I don't mind it not having a backlight but the alarm is quite low and can easily be missed while listening to any thing at a moderate sound level. It does not have a digital countdown feature which would be nice.

Since it was still under it's 1 year warranty I called Casio's repair center in New Jersey and they were very helpful in explaining how to return it.The customer must pay shipping to Casio. They pay the return shipping.Unfortunately, they could not replace this watch with the exact replacement and sent me a new model AMW320RD-2AV.It's the one with the dark blue dial instead of the black one.I actually like this blue one as much or more.It appears almost black at certain angles and lighting but dark blue when viewed directly. The alarm sounds a bit louder and the bezel is tighter. So in summary I gave it a three star rating because of the defects in quality and reliability.I would have rated it lower but my compliments to CASIO on excellent customer service. The turn around time for replacement only took two weeks using UPS ground shipping.Hope this is helpful and my experience was rare and not common with this model.

Casio #DBC610A-1A Men's Vintage Stainless Steel Band 50 Telememo Calculator Watch Review

Casio #DBC610A-1A Men's Vintage Stainless Steel Band 50 Telememo Calculator WatchI have owned casio watches for about 35 years. They like all things get cheaper. The good points on this watch are, the 5 alarms, the spacious data storage, and the time accuracy. I need the alarms to help me remember when to take my blood pressure meds. They use to make the data bank without the calculator with 5 alarms that held 50 data numbers. That's what I had before this one. I really didn't want the calculator. The bad point is the watch case and band connection points are made of plastic. I play golf and like to leave my watch on. The watch band broke off after having it for about 6 months. Lucky thing for super glue. That's how I repaired it. My watch before this one broke in the same place where the pin sticks into the watch case my super glue didn't work good on it that's why I bought this watch.
