Casio Men's EQW700DBJ-1A Edifice Solar Atomic Watch Review

I love this watch!That said, 1 hour after unpacking it I was convinced it was broken
and ready to send it back. NOT SO FAST!This watch is SOLAR powered. Yes it can maintain a sufficient
charge to function for one day if under flourescent light for 8 hrs, but its delivered to you after being in a totally
dark box (a cute Casio can) for a few months at least!Mine arrived with the display blank and the
analog hands frozen.No problem I thought..just a few minutes under a hologen lamp
and I'm good to go...right.Not so much.I read the "Home time zone" and "Manual time
setting" sections of the manual and proceded to push the appropriate buttons.Chaos.Nothing
responded acording to the manual.The problem.....not enough juice.When you get this watch
you should put it in direct sunlight (outdoors preferably) for 6 to 8 hrs. before attempting
anything...and I mean anything.Then and only then go first to page E-34 of the manual and
set the "Home Position" of the hands.Then go to page E-49 and set your time zone and local
time manually. Then, after dark, try a "manual receive" of the atomic time.I say after dark
because unless you live within 600 miles of Clorado, you probably will not get a satisfactory
signal during daylight.THEN, READ THE ENTIRE MANUAL.Yes it is small print and somewhat
difficult to decifer. But you cannot enjoy or controll this timepiece without understanding the
operating system.Complicated?....perhaps....worth it?....YOU BET!This watch will last you
a lifetime and you'll never need to replace a battery, worry about dailight savings changes or
leap years or 30-31 day month settings and never need to set the time.Only occasionally
will you need to do maintainance of exact hand position.Once FULLY charged (27 hrs direct
sunlight) this watch will maintain itself with ambient daylight and office flourescent light.
Beware the "tilt backlight feature"....this really sucks the power and is not really useful
after the Gee-wiz factor wears off.ENJOY!

Casio Men's PAW5000-1 Pathfinder Solar Power Blue Dial Watch Review

my pathfinder 5000 arrived two days ago.it was a serious task just trying to find one.comments have noted that the owner would have preferred a metal strap to the rubber one provided. most metal straps provided by casio are steel, a magnetic metal.i think this would interfere with the compass function in the watch.I do not know if titanium is magnetic but for many persons it is price prohibitive.i agree with some that if one is not tech minded then one should stay away from this watch.but i love it.i have reviewed the manual on its various functions and have successfully operated them all, except, switching the barometric units from one to the other.i successfully switched the thermometer from celcius to farenheit but just could not get the barometric units to go.but i can live with this becuase the bar. units are where i want them to be (inches of mercury).the watch caught the satellite signal last nite and is in sync (perfectly) with two other satellite watches i have (atomic if you prefer). once again, great watch casio, you outdid yourself.

Casio Men's W94HF-8AV Multifunction Sport Watch Review

Perfect regatta watch. I have used this watch for many years and currently own two of them. The best feature is the repeating countdown timer with audible alert every minute, 30s, 20s, 10s, 5,4,3,2,1 ... (this is not a common feature in other Casio watches - unfortunately) You can hear it in heavy air on the starting line, which can't be said about many other, much more expensive, watches. Over the years, I have gone through half a dozen or more of those, primarily because they got pulled off by a line or ripped off from my hand in some other fashion. Never gave it a second thought because it is so cheap, always carry a backup in my bag to a regatta. You can hand one to your crew or a friend and if it does not come back - oh well... The band is solid. The only disadvantage is that it is hard to keep it completely clean if you live an active life and spend some time in the water. Not quite good enough to wear as a dress watch unless it is new (although I have been doing just that for a while). Never had to replace the battery. You will get some scratches, but to my knowledge, this is essentially unbreakable watch. Also, no gimmick features like moon-phase...
- dual time is good if you travel across timezones occasionally
- alarm is loud
- stopwatch with the usual features
- countdown - the best
- back-light is bright enough
reliable, practical, durable, light, inexpensive and OK looking

Casio Men's AL180AMVV-1 Tough Solar Digital Sports Watch Review

So I don't understand the other reviewers complaints about it not working when the sun sets. Why would CASIO make a watch that did that?? That would be an extremely lame thing to manufacture.

All you had to do was read the instruction manual, it states that the watch must be charged for 3-6 hours (where 3 hours is outdoor sunlight, and 6 hours is under office lighting).

There is a little icon on the screen that looks like a little sun; when that goes out the watch is fully charged.

On a full charge, the 2505 model will last 14 days without needing a charge again from its solar panel! The other model (not the 2505 version) will last 4 days on a single charge.

Okay so the watch does not have a backlight, but so what. It still provides an alarm and hourly chime features.

It also has that cool 80's retro look, yet has 21st century technology utilizing supercapacitors instead of batteries. Truly a watch you can say is powered by the sun and not using up our resources to power itself.

I am surprised the green movement has not seized up this really cool technology.
Way to go CASIO for another home run of a watch - love your products ever since the 80s!

Baby-G Ladies Watch Baby-G 200M BG-3000-7ADR - WW Review

This watch is just great, very trendy, not too big. I'm 4'11, very tiny wrists and it looks great. I've received many compliments. I bought one for myself and then had to buy one for my sister, and she's no kid. She's 40! The only problem I've had is the watch getting dirty because it's white, but I wipe it down with alcohol and it's back to normal.
